Motorola Charm Android Phone – Price And Details
Motorola Charm is a ‘touch & type’ phone which brings the best of both the worlds namely – a QWERTY keypad and a touch sensitive screen. It’s specifications are really impressive. For instance, it has a 2.8 inch Capacitive touch screen with a QVGA resolution, a Blackberry style QWERTY keyboard, and is light weight (110 g) as the outer shell is plastic.

The Capacitive touch screen is covered with Gorilla Glass display. Corning® Gorilla® Glass display resists impact and scratch damage, and is considered the best covering for the touch screen of a mobile phone.

Motorola Charm - Camera and Backtrack
On the outside, Motorola Charm has a nice volume rocker and a micro USB port on the left side , and a 3.5 mm headset jack and a dedicated power button on the top. On the back it has a 3.15 MP camera and something unique to Motorola devices – a backtrack navigation tool – which is in fact a trackpad at the back of the phone which is quite useful to do scrolling while holding the phone in hand.
Full Specifications
On the inside, Motorola Charm is powered by a 600 MHz processor, an internal memory of 512 MB RAM and 512 MB storage, there is a microSD card slot (you have to remove the back cover to insert it though) which supports up to 32 GB.
All the data protocols namely – GPRS, EDGE, 3G, WLan (Wi-Fi), and Bluetooth are all supported by Motorola Charm which makes it a very good smart phone.
Its battery is a standard one (Li-Ion 1130 mAh) which provides decent standby time and talk time when compared to other Android cell phones of its class.
Motorola Charm runs Android v2.1 (Eclair) – the latest version of Google’s Android OS.
I need not add that it comes with Android market place and has dedicated applications for Twitter, Facebook, and many other popular social networking sites installed by default.
Apart from a hardware QWERTY keyboard, Charm also provides an onscreen virtual keyboard which brings the best of both worlds. However, because of the relatively small screen size, the on screen typing experience is a bit cramped and prone to error.
Web browsing experience is quite good and has multi-touch support and is loaded with Flash Lite player so you can view YouTube videos as well. The user interface is quite responsive.
However, Motorola Charm display dims when seen in sunlight.
For all these features, Motorola is selling Charm for a mere Rs 13499 in India which is a very good price for a mid range Android smart phone.
