LaTeX Resume Templates

It is possible to create beautiful, aesthetically pleasing, well structured, great resumes using LaTeX. Here I have collected a number of resources that offer LaTeX templates for creating structurally sound resumes.

What is LaTeX ?

LaTeX is a TeX macro package, originally written by Leslie Lamport, that provides a document processing system. LaTeX allows markup to describe the structure of a document, so that the user need not think about presentation. By using document classes and add-on packages, the same document can be produced in a variety of different layouts.

LaTeX is available for Linux, Unix, Windows, and Mac OS X. Learn how to install LaTeX in Ubuntu Linux.

A List of LaTeX Resume Templates

Advanced 2-column LaTex CV template – This tutorial from “The CV Inn” shows you how to create a great looking, colorful, typographic, 2-column resume using LaTeX. Click on the image below to see the resulting resume (PDF).

Miklos Csuros template -  This is a resume TeX template created by a professor named Miklos Csuros.  It is structured along the lines of a classical resume. You can see the result here.

CurVe – This is a Curriculum Vitae class for LaTeX2e. It aims to make your life easier when you want to write your CV. A nice feature of CurVe is its ability to manage different resume “flavors” simultaneously. This feature is helpful if  you want to keep up slightly divergent versions of your resumé at the same time, to emphasize on different aspects of your background.

LaTeX professional resume layout made simple -  This article showcases a very nicely done professional resume using LaTeX.

Moderncv – Like the curVe class listed above, moderncv is a TeX package that is solely used to create beautiful resumes using LaTeX. For an example of a CV created using the moderncv package, open this document.

Resume Class – This TeX class also helps you put together a nicely done resume.

A collection of LaTeX resume templates – These templates, originally designed by the Rensselaer Career Development Center, are available in LaTeX format. There are around 10 resume templates on this page.
