Pou – A fun game on Android

When I was young, we used to keep an adoring dog as a pet. He was with us for many years till he died of old age. Unfortunately, after that it was not practical for us to adopt a pet due to living constraints. Recently, I came across a nice game that runs on Android device. It is a virtual pet game called Pou.

WordWeb – A free offline dictionary for Android

If you are in the habit of writing – whether it is to send an email, compose a blog post, or write manuals, you will need a dictionary. The traditional printed dictionaries are cumbersome, and their online variants need an internet connection. However, there are a number of free offline dictionaries that you can run on your Android cell phone.

Some time back, I had covered one such offline dictionary named Artha which works on multiple platforms including Windows, and Linux. Unfortunately, it will not run on mobile devices such as your Android cell phone.

India Gets Aakash – World’s Cheapest Android Tablet

India gets the cheapest tablet in the world. The much hyped low-cost tablet nicknamed Aakash (meaning ‘sky’ in Hindi) will be made available to school students at a subsidized price of $35, ~ Indian Rs 1750.

Aakash is a collaboration between the Indian government and a small British-based company DataWind.

Amazon Unveils Kindle Fire – The Much Awaited Android Tablet

Last Wednesday, Amazon unveiled the much awaited, next generation Kindle e-book readers,  and an Android tablet named Kindle Fire.
