Nokia has launched a unique cell phone accessory – A bicycle powered cell phone charger.

The kit consists of a dynamo to generate electricity when you pedal the bicycle, a DC-14 phone charger, a phone holder to attach your Nokia cell phone to your bicycle while charging, and miscellaneous parts used to attach the whole kit to your bicycle.

After it’s installed, the kit will charge your phone when you ride the bike at speeds in excess of 6 km/hour. Nokia suggests that the speed of the bike be over 12 km/hour for best efficiency.

Nokia bicycle charger kit  is carefully designed to withstand dirt and weather, and both the phone and bicycle charger attach securely to bicycle.

Nokia claims, you can even listen to music from your phone’s speakers as you cycle.

This bicycle charger kit is aimed at parts of the world where bicycle is still used as a mode of transport – such as Asia and Africa. In India, this bicycle charger kit (when available) is purported to cost around Rs 850.
