“Sita Sings the Blues” is a feature length film by Urbana native Nina Paley – an independent animator. This film is a retelling of the popular Indian epic “Ramayana“. The producer of the film (Nina Paley) has released the film for free viewing over the internet via a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike License.

Please note that the producer never claims this film to be a faithful retelling of the Ramayana. The very first answer in the FAQ on the official site says “Sita Sings the Blues is a musical, animated personal interpretation of the Indian epic the Ramayana”.
