Panasonic has unveiled an LED bulb which has a lifetime of 19 years assuming 5 1/2 hours of use every day.  That is 40 times longer than incandescent bulbs. The screw-in bulbs are a part of EverLed line and will be initially marketed in Japan with eventual expansion to USA, Europe and South East Asia.

These bulbs from Panasonic consume significantly less power in the range 4 – 8 Watts. It is said, just using these led bulbs will help make significant savings each year in ones electric bills.
