Export all your Data from Google

Good Google vs Evil Google – This thought has often entered many of our minds at one time or the other. Considering the pervasive reach of Google in all of our Internet dealings, we sometimes wonder if we are doing ourselves good by storing all our data on Google servers. What if Google turns evil ?

However, Google has started a new website named “Data liberation” whose aim is to help you to transfer your data from all the Google products and services you use.   It has separate sections which explain for instance, how to export all your data from Gmail, Google Docs, Analytics, iGoogle, Blogger, Picasa Web Albums, and more.

And to those who are still not fully convinced that Google is indeed good and not evil, read what Google CEO Eric Schmidt said against lock-in (And I quote) :

How do you be big without being evil? We don’t trap end users. So if you don’t like Google, if for whatever reason we do a bad job for you, we make it easy for you to move to our competitor.

If you are still feeling uneasy or wish to back up your data outside Google servers, head over to Data liberation website and learn how to export all your data from Google.
