Google Fast Flip – A new way of reading news online
Google has unveiled what is touted as a revolutionary way of reading news. The name of the technology is called Fast Flip.
Google Fast Flip combines qualities of print and the Web, with the ability to “flip” through pages online as quickly as flipping through a magazine. It also enables users to follow friends and topics, discover new content and create their own custom magazines around searches.
Google has teamed up with more than 30 News providers such as the BBC to provide the web users a new reading experience.
Fast Flip imitates a conventional print publication by offering screenshots of the web pages containing relevant articles. The stories are organized according to popularity, recommendation by friends, or personal preference.
Apart from BBC, you can also read articles from other established newspaper and magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Elle, Popular Mechanics, Slate, Salon, the New York Times, the Washington Post and ProPublica. What should be exciting for the above mentioned publications is that Google will share a part of the revenue it earns from conceptual ads it runs on Fast flip with them. As for end users like us, it is a great way of keeping track of up-to-date news.
