Tata DoCoMo rolls out GSM mobile services in yet another Indian state
Posted on August 7th, 2009 No commentsTata Teleservices Ltd (TTML) launched its GSM services under Tata DoCoMo brand in Maharashtra (a state of India). Earlier I had talked about the features of Tata DoCoMo mobile service and why it was one of the best mobile phone services yet available in India. Prepaid mobile market in India is booming with numerous players in the field.
TTML has spent over Rs 1000 crore on its 3G-ready GSM network and has GSM spectrum for 18 out of country’s 22 telecom circles.
Tata DoCoMo has announced a range of products and innovative tariff options. However, its most popular selling point is its 1 second pulse which means you are only billed for the time you use which has been factored to a second.
In Maharashtra too, Tata DoCoMo has rolled the GSM service with the following features -
- Pay as you use (one second billing)
- Life time plan – Your mobile phone number will not lapse if you do not top up.
- Pay for three connections and get 100 SMS free every day.
- International calling is also available on a per second billing model.
Mobile services provided by the heavy weights like Idea, Airtel, BSNL all provide a per minute billing model. Tata DoCoMo claims its per second billing model will help save money for the consumers in the long run.
