Different things you can do with a Tata DoCoMo mobile service

Earlier, I had talked about the Tata DoCoMo mobile service being rolled out across India. When you buy a mobile service plan from Tata DoCoMo, you get a SIM card, an application form which you have to fill and return to the dealer along with proof of identity such as passport, election ID or driving license copy; And you also get a nifty booklet which details what other value added features the Tata DoCoMo service provides apart from the basic service.

Here, I have consolidated and listed all the features provided by the Tata DoCoMo mobile service (Pre Paid).

Call *111# for a screen display or call 12525 for the following :

• To check your balance
• To check your validity
• To add talktime – Recharge – Call *135*2*<Recharge Pin># or 12525. You can also recharge online at tatadocomo.com.

Call 121 to get details on the following services :

• To know more about Roaming tariffs.
• Voice SMS – Dial * followed by the recipient’s number and record your message.
• MMS – Attach a picture or a video with your text message.
• Missed Call Alerts – Let’s you know by SMS who called you when your cell phone was switched off.
• Call Conference – Hold a teleconference with up to 5 people simultaneously.
• Call Wait – If someone is trying to get through when you’re on a call, a little beep will let you know.
• Call Divert – Divert calls to any number you like.
• Call Hold – Put a call on hold while you take another.
• SIM Security – Every SIM card has a 4-digit PIN code that’s like a password to lock it. The default PIN on your SIM is 1234. Be careful with it. If you get it wrong 3 times, your SIM card dies.  If this happens, then you can call 121 to get the Personal Unblock Key from the mobile service.
• To block stolen SIM cards and get a replacement (for a tiny fee of course).

• Funny Voices – Make and receive calls with a personalised funny voice. Call 5000091
• Local Search -  Send an SMS to +919032055002 to get directions to local shops and locations near your place.
• Ask Directions – Guide you anywhere with the IVR assistance. Call 5000092
• Daily SMS alerts – News, Jokes, Cricket … Subscribe once to stay informed. Call *444#
• Voice Chat – Call 510001
• Dive-In Voice – The latest movies, music, jokes and more, all on demand. Call 50000
• Cricket – For live commentary, call 510002
• Jokes – Call 510006
• News – National, International, sports, business or entertainment updates. Call 510004
• Devotional Hymns – Call 510005
• For Devotional Alerts and Daily Horoscope – Call *444#
• Live Astrology – Call 510007
• mCHECK (M-WALLET) – Have Visa money transfer on your phone. Pay your bills, top-up your prepaid account, buy airline and railway tickets.
