Get Free 5GB Online Storage Space for all your Files at Acrobat
Acrobat is a software product developed by Adobe that can be used to create PDF documents. Now Adobe has extended Acrobat to an online portal where it provides 5 GB of free storage space to store all your files.
To start using Acrobat.com services, you will first have to register with Adobe and get a user account. Once it is done, you can log into the Acrobat.com site and start uploading all your files.
Acrobat.com is still in Beta but it’s interface is slick and sports a diverse set of features. The entire interface is built using Flex technology and so you need to have Flash player plug-in activated in your browser for the Acrobat.com user interface to load.
The files you upload to your account in Acrobat.com can be sorted in 6 different modes namely - Alphabetically, list by author, by timestamp, by file type, by size and share status. More over, you can view the files in list mode or as thumbnails.
Features of Acrobat.com online storage
- Convert your files to PDF – from within Acrobat.com account or your computer.
- Share your files to the intended recipients via email.
- Upload files from your computer and use your Acrobat.com account as an online storage. Limited to 5GB.
- Acrobat allows you to embed your documents directly in your websites.
- Seamlessly sending links to files in your Acrobat.com account from Outlook. You need to install a plug-in for this feature to work.
- Acrobat.com has an AIR application which allows you to use this service right from your Desktop.
- Works flawlessly in Firefox web browser. So you can also use this facility from Linux. Opera web browser is not yet supported though.
With it’s rich set of features, Acrobat.com is no doubt a fabulous option for people who want to store their personal files online – either as a backup option or to share with multiple recipients. While 5GB is indeed a limited amount of space, it will be enough for most individual users. I do like the fact that Adobe allows you to convert your documents to PDF format right from the Acrobat.com user interface. All in all, this is one slick, free, online file storage service.
