Installing VirtualBox Guest Additions In Ubuntu Linux
Posted on February 12th, 2009 No commentsVirtualBox Guest Additions are a set of drivers and utilities which are installed always in the guest OS. Once installed, they improve the performance of the guest OS and its cooperation with rest of the product and even the host OS.
Advantages of using VirtualBox Guest Additions
Once installed in the Guest OS, VirtualBox Guest Additions provide the following extra features.
- Seamless mouse integration between the Host OS and the Guest OS. Now you do not have to press the RIGHT CTRL key each time you want to switch the mouse between the host and guest OS.
- Resizing the VirtualBox Virtual Machine window will automatically resize the guest OS desktop.
- Cut and Paste support between host OS and guest OS.
I have created a video tutorial explaining the steps required to install VirtualBox Guest Additions in Ubuntu Linux running as the Guest OS. Watch the following video to learn how it is done.
