Tips to keep fruits and vegetables fresh
A Linux user is entitled to his or her daily quota of fruits and vegetables. Usually, when ever I buy fruits or vegetables from the market, I tend to dump the whole lot into the refrigerator. And many times, I have found that some vegetables and fruits get bad quicker than the others. Little did I know that keeping certain fruits or vegetables near some others, actually speeds up the ripening process of the later, thus shortening their life span.
Following are some very handy tips to increase the life span of the fruits and vegetables you buy.

- Store apples away from direct sunlight.
- While storing fruits and vegetables inside the refrigerator, keep them inside perforated bags and store them in the bottom most drawer in the refrigerator meant for keeping produce.
- Do not keep fruits and vegetables together in the refrigerator – ever. Keep them in separate drawers.
- When storing herbs within the refrigerator, snip off the ends, store them upright in a glass of water and cover with a plastic bag.
