Breaking the tower is a slow-paced strategy game where you build a village, raise an army, and eventually topple a tower on the other side of the island. Did some one mention Age of Empires game ? Oh yeah it is similar to that game but much simpler and easier to play.

You have three basic resources that are used for everything in the game: wood, food, and stone.

Using these three basic resources, you can build eight structures namely – mason, woodcutter, planter, farmer, miller, guard post, barracks and residence. For example, to create more peons who do all the grunt work except the fighting, you build residences. And to cut trees, build the woodcutter structure and so on.

The beauty of this game is that it is entirely mouse driven. Just sit in front of your computer and click through the game. Did I say that in between the game, I was able to take long breaks such as going out for tea, running errands for my family and so on ? The funny thing is the game amazingly managed itself without my presence. It took me well over 2 hours to finish the game but it was quite enjoyable.

Funny that you ask, of course the game  works on Linux too. Just make sure you have Sun’s Java Runtime Environment installed.
