Adobe Photoshop is a graphics editing software developed and marketed by Adobe Systems. It is the current market leader for commercial bitmap and image manipulation software, and is the flagship product of Adobe Systems.

On February 10th, 2010, Photoshop turned twenty. Photoshop’s roots can be traced back to one family consisting of two brothers (Thomas Knoll & John Knoll) and their father (Glen Knoll) who together came up with the idea of an image editor. And in 1988 they released a version of the image editor which they named Image Pro.

In 1990, they partnered with Adobe Systems, and Photoshop 1.0 was born.

The current version of Photoshop is Photoshop CS4. Adobe is currently developing Photoshop CS5, which is expected to be released in mid-2010.
